Deleting a folder
回答済みWhen you delete a folder are the files in the folder also deleted? There are a bunch of folders that were automatically created for copied files, transitioned files, etc. that I don't want to use? What do I need to do to get rid of the folders without deleting the files in the folder? This is not intuitive at all.

Howdy, Rebecca!
I can shed a little light on how this works in Wdesk today, and a little about our ideal state.
Today, you cannot delete a folder unless it is empty, so deleting a folder wouldn't delete the items in it. In fact, it wouldn't let you. You care correct that folders do get created when you copy or transition files, but you could move items out of there and trash those folders once they are empty. You can also drag and drop folders in your Home view as well to help organize a little.
That being said, when you do perform a copy or transition today, you are also presented with a choice of where to place the copied/transitioned items and rename the new folder. In the future we plan to allow you to create a new folder form here too.
Hopefully that helps some. Let me know what questions you have for me, or if you need anything else. Thanks as always and chat soon!0Hi Mike, I don't want files in folders right now. It appears that I can't move files out of folders entirely. It looks like they have to be in a folder of some sort. Right? Can I move them out of folders entirely?
0Gotcha Rebecca. That makes sense.
Yes, you should be able to move them out of a folder but I can see how that is kinda confusing. If you bulk select them and then drag them, you want to place them in the "root" folder, which is like no folder at all. By default its actually labeled "Folders". These files would now not be in a folder so much as found in All Files.0
