Set default font in Spreadsheets

Hi,

 

Is there a way to set a default font in Spreadsheets similar to setting the default in Excel (for example, I want my font to default to Times New Roman rather than the Arial that is currently defaulting to.

    Thanks for the question. While you can't set a default font for Spreadsheets in your account, I can think of a few workarounds for you.

    Create a Style Guide
    Recently released to next gen is the option to select, edit, create and even export a Style Guide. In this scenario, you could create a Spreadsheets specific one and then export it to reuse on any Spreadsheet you create.

    Create a Template
    Another option could be to actually create a Spreadsheet Template that you can then reuse when you go to create any future Spreadsheets. Similarly, you could implore the use of Style Guides here too, but when  you are done go to File > Save As > Template, like so:

    Then, in the future, when you or other team members go to Create +, you can now select the option to create a Spreadsheet from the newly created template, like so:

     

    Hopefully those options are of some help. You can rest assured, too, that you are not alone in this request and the ability to set a default font is something our Product Team is looking into, and I've passed along your interest. I'll keep you posted with any new developments going forward, but in the meantime do let me know what questions you have or if you need anything else.

    Hello - was there ever any progress on implementing a way to set up a default font and font size for an entire presentation? The Arial 10 is what everything starts as, if we had the option to customize that it would be helpful.

    Hi DJ!

    Similar to what is recommended above for Spreadsheets, you can create a setup with the font(s) you want via Styles and then save a Presentation as a Template for reuse.
