EDGAR 24.1 Release - Monday, March 18, 2024
On March 18, 2024, EDGAR Release 24.1 introduced changes to revise Chapter 6 of the EDGAR Filing Manual and introduced a new EDGAR XBRL Guide on sec.gov. This update also includes validations based on FASB’s 2024 Data Quality Committee Rules Taxonomy (DQCRT).
Along with the release, the SEC has accepted the 2024 version of the following taxonomies:
- US-GAAP and SRT (published by FASB)
- CEF, COUNTRY, CURRENCY, DEI, ECD, EXCH, FFD, FND, NAICS, OEF, RXP, SIC, SNJ, SRO, STPR, and VIP (published by SEC)
The Workiva Product Team is working to add support for the 2024 versions within the Workiva platform. We anticipate having these available by mid-April 2024 and additional communication will be made when these are ready for use.

We are happy to announce that the following SEC Taxonomies are now supported in the Workiva platform:
- 2024 U.S. GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy (GRT)
- 2024 Closed-End Fund (CEF)
- 2024 Executive Compensation Disclosure (ECD)
- 2024 Variable Insurance Product (VIP)
- 2024 Resource Extraction Payments (RXP)
