  Thanks for the question. The Workiva Database is often Greek to me, so I asked our experts and have the following tips for you.

  They recommend using either a Snapshot of the prior year and/or prior year test forms (opened from current year) where possible, as this will show the "frozen" versions of the test form, with the layout, control description, etc. at the time it was tested.

  From an access point of view, only Data Admins and Managers can access Snapshots, so External Auditors and Testers won't have this option.

  Prior year test form access is based on who had permission at the time of the roll forward. If a group had access to the folder at that time, any new users can be added to that group and access just fine. If a member only had explicit access when the test form was rolled forward, you won't be able to grant access to this version retroactively. If that's the case, you'd need to unarchive the prior year's audit program.

  Unarchiving accessing via a report shows the live version but can be a good option if you cannot access via the above methods. A report is also a good option if you just need to review conclusions or some other aspect of the testing in bulk without opening the forms.
