File permissions options at the time of upload/creation?

Is it possible to set file permissions at the time that a file or filing is created?  It seems like quarterly I or someone else in my team overlooks that a file or filing already exists because the default is that only the creator can view it.  It would be helpful to have an option to set permissions at the time of creation if that isn't already in the works.

    Hi Bryan,

    There are a couple of options you have here: 

    1. If you create a file in a folder, the file will assume the permissions of the folder. You can optimize the permissions of the folder ahead of time and then create files in the folder as needed.  
    2. If you are a Workspace Owner, you are able to go to Permission Sets in Classic Admin and you can set up default filing permissions. 

    We do not, however, currently have an option to set permissions at the time of creation of a file or filing. We passed that information on to our product team and will let you know if anything changes! Anyone passing by is encouraged to vote up/comment on this suggestion.
