Print a single section to a physical printer
Noticing that there is a Print button/icon (also activated with command+p) on the toolbar which brings up "Print Options" I do not seem to get any connection to my physical print driver. Within the Workiva environment, how do i physically print a section to my local printer. Do i have to create a pdf and then print from that.
If within Chrome I select File -> Print I get a normal Mac OS print dialog with a preview of the Workiva interface and no image of my current section.
What is the prefered method to print a section to a localy attached Printer?

Hi Glyn Szasz,
To print a section to a locally attached printer within the Workiva environment, the preferred method involves exporting the section as a PDF and then printing it. Here's how you can proceed:1. Export as PDF:
- Navigate to the Filetoolbar and selectSave As.
- Choose the PDFoption and specify whether you want to export the entire document, the current section, or selected sections.
- Under the Advancedoptions, you can include additional settings like markup if needed.
- Click Exportto generate the PDF2. Print the PDF:
- Open the exported PDF in your preferred PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Preview on Mac).
- Use the File -> Printoption or the keyboard shortcut (Command + P on Mac or Ctrl + P on Windows).
- Select your local printer from the print dialog and adjust any print settings as required - ClickPrintto send the document to your physical printer. If you use thePrintbutton in the Workiva toolbar, it opens the "Print Options" dialog. However, this may not directly connect to your physical printer. Instead, it is designed to prepare the document for export or further processing. Using the PDF export method ensures that the document retains its formatting and is compatible with most printers.0
