Blurry images
When bringing in an image from Word or Excel or a picture, the result within Workiva is blurry. I have looked at other posts and made sure that it meets the pixel and DPI requirements that were listed but it is still blurry. Are there any other tips? We've tried snip/copy/paste/import with the same results. As they are legal budget documents it would be really great for the images to be crystal clear. Budget documents also are turned in for review and a comment we have consistently been given since moving to Workiva is that the images are blurry. Help??

I also have this issue of not being able to import a crisp pdf image in a document.
0For Word I either save the picture before importing it into Wdesk by right clicking the picture and save picture as... I then have a couple of image formats to choose from. .png and svg seems to produce the better-quality images. Alternatively, saving the Word as a web page (html) it creates a folder containing all the images in the document in their original format.
For Excel you can do the same with images as Word, what I noticed is that if you save a chart as an image, make the chart as big as possible before saving, it affects the picture size.
For pdf's you can try opening them in Word or zoom in as much as possible then snip. Consider pasting the snip in an image editor, save it and then import it. I've also used software such as GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) to load a pdf as images and export from there.
I'm using Windows as an operating system.
0I'm having the same issue when importing jpg files into SEC filing documents. What is required to ensure that these come in crisp and clear?
0Thanks everyone for sharing their experiences here. We appreciate your candid feedback. Happy to share some info for you here around image quality in Workiva.
When the Workiva platform exports a file, they are exported in whatever resolution they are imported it in as, so the image quality can only be as good as the quality they are brought in at. That is, unless the images are then decreased, such as the PPI, during export for various outputs. All that said,, when they look at the image in Workiva, we may show it as less crisp to not require the full image resolution, which could slow your system response down. If we are seeing reduced quality on exports, we usually recommend folks confirm that the output (PDF, html, etc.) does show the true resolution and if it is not, to then request the original image at whatever resolution it was created in and use that image.
Hope that helps add some clarity on what experience should be like in Workiva with regards to images. Do let us know if you have any questions on the above, or have additional feedback to provide. Thanks again and have a great rest of your day!
