Planning Tab - Suggestions
CompletatoSo I have been playing around with the Planning tab and think it will be a good resource for us. However, there are a couple of suggestions I would like to make:
1. Currently only a Manager role or Planner role can seem to access the planning. I think it would be nice to allow for a role that would have READ ONLY (no editing) capabilities. Reason: managers can make the resource plan and the staff personnel could view the plan to see where they will be assigned in the future. Gives transparency for those who are being planned - without them having (or needing) to edit the plan.
2. In the TABLE view of the resource plan by person - the plan automatically allocates the hours proportionally for the time period- which is very good. So if I have assigned someone to be working on 100 hours on a 20 week audit, it automatically allocates 5 hours for each week. However, it would be NICE TO HAVE the option to re-allocate those hours anyway you want.
Just my two cents. Thanks!

Hi Ken!
Your two cent are always appreciated. Thanks for sharing 🙂
0Ken, I am happy to report both these features are available now! Like Mike said, thank you so much for your feedback!
1. Manager or Planner are still needed to access the experience in the first place, but now you can set Owner, Editor, Viewer level permissions on each Resource Plan.2. We've made a bunch of improvements to the Person - Table view including the ability to double click into assigned hour cells and customize how you distribute those assigned hours.
0All -- thanks for the update. Only issue is -- when I go to look at my Resource plan -- the status bar says Opening Schedule and just spins and spins......
0Ken, sorry to hear this. We want you to try out these new features! What you are describing sounds like a problem we've seen with larger Resource Plans. The good news is we have a fix going out tonight that should repair your problem.
0Wanted to confirm that the fix for this did resolve the underlying issue. Thanks again, Ken, and keep staying great!
