As promised, just released were the pie chart enhancements you've been waiting for! 😊  Thanks so much for your patience and feedback along the way, and certainly let us know what questions you have.

All the best, and keep staying great!

    Hi Cindy!

Thanks for the question. I did a little digging to confirm, but currently you cannot alter the curved line in next gen Charts. You are not alone in your request, however, and our team is looking into providing more control over the angle and curvature of these connector lines. I've connected this request with them and will certainly keep you updated going forward.

In the meantime, give me a holler if you need anything else, or have any questions. Thanks again for your feedback and have a super day!

Has there been any update to this. I agree with Cindy - this formatting is not ideal, and looks sloppy. We much prefer the straight lines

    Hi Laura!

Sorry I missed this before. Thanks for the reminder on this feature.

I do have some small updates for you you regarding the progress of this idea. Enhancements to charts in general, including pie chart labels, is currently planned for late this quarter. That is subject to change but at the very least we can say we are looking to get this done in 2021. We'll keep you updated as that progresses, but do let me know what questions you have in the meantime.

All the best and have a great day!

So what is your advice for us WDesk users who have used pie charts with ease in the past, but now are having issues in Next Gen?  I find it very troubling that we 'update' to a "better platform" in Next Gen but we can't seem to do all of the things that were basic/routine in Classic.  Seems like 2 steps forward, 3 steps back.  I find this very concerning.  Please advise.

I would be happy to tie you to this request so you are able to get updates as it moves along. Could you please let me know which specific concerns you have around pie charts so I am able to better help you and answer your questions? Thank you!

My concern is basically the spacing and labels of each pie piece.  We have some pie charts with 11 different pie pieces and some are very small.  The label of most of the pieces need to be outside of the pie and there is not a good way to space those, as they are all bunched together and look very unprofessional.

    Thanks.

Just in case this helps anyone- we were having issues with our pie charts and there being enough space in the labels. It would look fine but when exported to PDF suddenly they were cut off. We changed the pie size to "auto" in the settings. The pie size would change to accommodate the labels and we rotated it around until we thought it looked the best.
