Spreadsheets - formulas, connections, import/export, Wdata and other questions
Con rispostaI have the following questions:
- On the topic of updating connections within Spreadsheets, it would be extremely helpful to have the functionality to a) be able to update all connections within all spreadsheets in a folder in Wdesk; and b) be able to update all connections within a spreadsheet without having to first select each connection individually.
- It would be very helpful to have the MINIFS AND MAXIFS formulas available in Spreadsheets. Are there any plans to add these formulas?
- When I export from Spreadsheets to Excel, the freeze panes and some other formatting (such as fill colors) do not export correctly. Why is this happening, and can it be fixed?
- When a data table in Prep is linked to a Spreadsheet as its source, it would be very helpful to simply publish from the Spreadsheet to Prep instead of going to Prep and replacing the data source by re-linking it to the Spreadsheet.
- When will the mobile app be available for NextGen?
- It would be helpful to be able to hide/collapse the top menu bar in Spreadsheets (so you can see more on the screen, especially when sharing your screen).
- It would be helpful to be able to select more than one item from the drop-down in the parameter field when running a query.
- Is it possible to find the folder location of a spreadsheet? I can find a spreadsheet by searching for its name, but I cannot see its folder location.

Hi Jacque!
Thanks so much for you questions. We're happy to answer these as best we can. With that, I'll take it away!

Being able to “Refresh All” is on our roadmap and should be available in Q4. Currently you can open the Wdata Panel and click Refresh on all connections without having to go to those sections. Refreshing all within a folder is not currently on our roadmap but is a great idea we’ll need to evaluate.0Item 2
At this time both MINIF and MAXIF formula support remains on the future roadmap, so no definitive timeline per se. I’ve added you to the existing request and we’ll be in touch with any new updates.

I would not expect that, initially. While the export to XLSX won’t likely be a 100% match, we aim to match as close as possible. It might help to get a copy of what you are seeing. I’ve drummed up a ticket here and will connect with you to see if we can better diagnose.

The concept of pushing data back to Wdata from a spreadsheet is something that we are currently exploring and planning but do not have a development data set yet. Would you be willing to discuss your workflow further with our discovery team?

We do have plans for an improved, next gen mobile app. Here’s an ongoing request for it, and I’ve also added you to it as well. This is also on the future roadmap, so no definite date for release yet, but following your requests will keep you apprised.

That’s an excellent idea and I’ve passed along to our Product Team to add it to their queue.

Multi-select pick list will be available in Q3 2020, so stay tuned!

I am not aware of any such feature in Workiva to locate the folder location, specifically. That’s a good call out, though, and I’ll definitely pass this feedback along to our Product Team for sure.
1Hi Jacqueline Vedra!
Quick follow-up on Item 2 here. A recent release has made MAXIFS (and MINIFS) available in Wdesk. Thanks for you patience and feedback, and enjoy these new functions 🤓.
