iXBRL and XBRL Table Tags
Con rispostaIs there a way to tag numbers that are within the text of our document and in the table with the same tag, without putting it in the non printing section?
For example, most of our tables are in thousands, but when we put it in text, we talk to the millions, and the accuracy settings are different. But when using the same tag on a number in millions vs. one in thousands, I get errors because the values aren't shown the same way in the rendered view.
So my way around this has been putting these tags in a non printing section, with the same numerical format, but when you look at the filed document, you can't see the tag on the text portion, because it was set to be in the non printing section.

The answer for this one will vary slightly depending on if you are using Next Gen or Classic. We want separate fact values for each location in the document because they have different accuracies (thousands, millions, etc.). Since a link can only have one fact value (in Classic) for each source, we want to create additional source links without having to manually update the value in multiple locations. If the fact is displayed with two different accuracies in the document, we will need two source links that go to the document. Chain Linking for iXBRL walks through the process for Next Gen, while Chain Linking for XBRL walks through the process for Classic. The key difference is that Next Gen supports cross-sheet formulas in Next Gen.
