Is there a way to automatically refresh filtered data in a spreadsheet or document?
Con rispostaHowever, when the source data in the spreadsheet changes, the filter results in the destination aren't updated. Is there a way to automatically refresh all the different filters in document to account for changes in the number of records in the source data?

Thanks for reaching out. I did some digging and discussed with our Product Team on this. Currently, the data in a filtered range does not automatically update if new values are added (as you are seeing). The good news is they are working on addressing this so that once a filter is established, any new data added will automatically become filtered as well.
I've made them aware of your instance and will keep you updated on this post with any new developments going forward. In the meantime, let me know if you have any questions for me or need anything else. Thanks again for your question. Looking forward to chatting with you further in the Community. Cheers!1Every month we have over 60 tables that we manually redo the filters for. This feature would be incredibly useful to our team too!! Thanks for the update and we look forward to it coming into effect.
2Hello. I am curious is this has been deployed to spreadsheets? thank you.
0Hi,
Any update on this one?
We have a table on a presentation that is connected to a Wdata query.
The table has a filter on it.
When the table is refreshed and new data comes, it doesnt re-apply filter to expand the table rows automatically.
Thanks
Sri0Hi Sri!
Currently, filters in documents linked to spreadsheets do not automatically update when the source data changes. However, Workiva provides a feature to "Reapply All Filters" with a single click, which allows you to refresh all filters in bulk. This is a manual step but simplifies the process compared to updating each filter individually. We acknowledge the need for automation in filter updates when data changes. While this feature is not yet available, it is under consideration for future development still. For now, the "Reapply All Filters" option is the best workaround to ensure your filters reflect the latest data changes.1Thanks Mike.
How can we use "Re-apply All Filters" to all slides in a presentation after we refresh the data? Can you please guide the steps?
0Mike, Was able to find the Reapply All Filters under data. This solves for one of the problem.
Another request i had was to find a way to pass a parameter to the data sheet that is connected to the table in the presentation. Similar to how you pass with connection to WData Query. This way we will have one master spreadsheet and pass parameters to get filtered data into the presentation table.
0Mike Davis Is there a request for the automation in filter updates when data changes? If so, can I be added to it?
0Hi Katie!
Yes, plans for integrated automation to auto-reapply filters when data changes are under consideration but not yet prioritized. I will happily get you added there so you can stay apprised. Thanks for chiming in :)
1Mike,
Is there a way to re-apply filters using chains?
Thanks
