  A long overdue follow-up here Michael Muller, as you've probably noticed, the legend now has options for Vertical Spacing, which adjusts the space between those items in your legend when its on the right (or left) side.

  

  Pretty snazzy, eh? Anyways, apologies for epic delay. I do hope you are still enjoying next gen Charts, and certainly give me a holler if there's anything else you need. I promised round two won't take me as long 😎

  Great question. I'm looking at the Chart Properties and do see the Padding option, like so:

  

  Does this seem to help at all? I will say that after a small enough number, the padding is negligible as it seems to only impact its space next to axis line. Let me know if this is not what you are looking for, or if you need anything else. Thanks again for your question and have a great day!

  You are correct in the padding will adjust the whitespace.  My follow up question would be will there be an availability to adjust the Item Distance for legends located on the right side of a chart?  I know that the feature is available for legends above and below the chart.  From the example below you can see that it would benefit from additional spacing.
