wdata chains to refresh data and publish the data on the spreadsheets
Con rispostaHow difficult would it be to (how would I do it?) use a connected query to automate a refresh to the data in a spreadsheet and then publish the changes? I see the WData commands but I do not see any guidance on how to build a query to use them. Maybe I am not looking in the correct area of the support section.

Shelly Arnold, This is fairly simple to do in a chain. You need to connect a query to your spreadsheet, and note the connection ID (view this in the properties of the connection).
In a chain, use the Refresh Connection command to update the data, and then the Publish Spreadsheet command to update your links.
0Shelly Arnold In addition to what Wade Hays mentioned, you can also use the List Connections command to get the list of connections prior to the Refresh Connection command. This design allows you to refresh multiple connected queries or control which to refresh, without the need to manually grab the connection ID.
0Hey Shelly Arnold, I also wanted to share our Connected Learning Paths! These are instructional paths to teach Data Management Suite users how to create Chains, specifically using the Workiva Connector. There is a section for refreshing connections that could be helpful to check out.
