.dat file into wdata

Hi Team,

 

We have a "Pipe" delimited file with file extension of ".dat". May I kindly know if workiva can accept ".dat" files into wdata tables?

I know "Pipe" delimiter is not an issue but, keeping delimiter constant can we load data into wdata in workiva by changing the file extension in any means?

    Hi Madhuri,

    Thank you for reaching out! In this case, you will need to convert the ".dat" files into CSV files. You may be able to do this by changing the extension and then resaving the file as a .csv. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Can we do the rename thrugh any commands in workiva chains?

    Hi Madhuri,

    I consulted with a few experts on this and they have suggested to first try to change the extension first and then via the UI and try to import that file. If that does not work you will need to convert outside of chains.

    I am importing .csv file to a spreadsheet in Wdesk, however in the spreadsheet all the columns are loading into single column. Is there a way to select delimiter during import or any option within spreadsheets?
