Hi, is iXBRL still voluntary at this point or is it effective in 2018?

    Hi Kenny,

    Thanks for the question. As of yet there's not been any update from the SEC since the comment period in May, so the mandate for inline XBRL is still under review by the SEC. That being said, there is no definitive effective date and the voluntary program for filing with iXBRL is still in effect.

    Hi Kenny!

    Wanted to provide a quick update. Just yesterday the SEC announced that inline XBRL will indeed be the new mandated for filers. They also updated the timeline a bit, with an updated phase-in period beginning June 2019 starting with Large Accelerated Filers and June 2020 for Accelerated. Then after June 2021, all other filers will be required to submit using iXBRL.
