Remove footnote

Hi team, I have a footnote in Workiva, and looks like the below. I am unable to remove the 1 with backspace and 

have gone into section footnote properties but there is no option to remove. Please advise. Thanks

    Hello 

    I am having the same issue. I am updating my company's Proxy Statement and am trying to delete a FN (#6) next to a line of text that has been embedded in a table purely for HTML formatting reasons. I have clicked on the cell containing the FN and deleted it there, but the FN (with associated text) still appears at the bottom of the page.  When I try to delete the text at the bottom of the page, I cannot delete the FN reference, itself.  I have also deleted, in its entirety, the "formatting purposes only" table containing the FN. This had no impact on the FN appearing at the bottom of the page, even after closing and re-opening the document. I even tried adding a new FN in the cell, and it appeared as FN #7 both in the cell (even though there was no FN #6) and at the bottom of the page (once again, even though the FN #6 reference has been deleted in the table). As such, I have an "empty" FN #6 at the bottom of the page and cannot figure out how to delete it.  Any assistance would be appreciated! Thank you!
