When setting up the Workiva connector there are a number of issues that can occur, below we cover the most common ones. If none of these help you please contact our support team and make sure to include the full error message.

Error authenticating with Workiva: invalid_client. Code 401

• Your client id and/or secret are invalid, please check your API grant and regenerate your secret.
• You are using the EU or APAC platforms and no URL overrides have been specified or they have been mistyped.

ERROR: Error making HTTP request:

• You may have specified an invalid or incorrect Override URL, double check all match the documentation exactly and check there are no spaces before or after each URL.

Unable to download resources associated with command.

• It’s likely you’re mixing GroundRunner and CloudRunner commands incorrectly. Commands assigned to a CloudRunner cannot read data (variables) from a command which uses a GroundRunner intentionally by design and for security reasons. Ensure all commands are set to GroundRunner or that no CloudRunner commands are using GroundRunner command variables in your chain.
• Failing the above this could also be general GroundRunner issues. Check your GroundRunner setup, the GroundRunner logs and our documentation including the troubleshooting section.
