Upcoming EDGAR Release on Monday, March 16, 2026 (Section 16)
The SEC published their draft changes for the upcoming EDGAR Release on 03/16/2026 that comes with some changes to Section 16 for FPIs. Luckily, as of right now these changes will only impact FPI and pre-existing non-FPI customers should not be impacted by these changes (small caveat below with addresses).
For FPI customers, there will be a new Foreign Trading Symbol field on the Issuer, alongside the existing Issuer fields. This value can only be sent to the SEC on or after 03/16/2026 when the SEC starts accepting this value, so FPI customers wishing to use this new value must wait until this date to file.
Alongside this change, are some tweaks to how the SEC accepts addresses. Notably, they will now accept an additional optional Non US State Territory field for Reporting Owner addresses for those reporting owners who wish to provide an address and that address falls into one of those territories. This value can only be sent to the SEC on or after 03/16/2026 when the SEC starts accepting this value as well.
Customers (including pre-existing non- FPI customers)will notice the State field on the Reporting Owner has been renamed to State/Country. If a non-US state/country is selected, the Non US State Territory field will appear.
