The following feature enhancement was suggested by a fellow Workiva customer. If you too would like this feature, vote it up or let us know in a comment below and we’ll get your feedback connected to our Product Team as well.

I have created a blackline, I see changes but not who it was made by. How can I see who made it? From a user point of you this would be a very very important function, because it is very important who made a comment not just compare two versions. In fact without seeing who made the comments between two versions, almost defeats the purpose of a blackline. We are better off than just looking into the individual revisions. Otherwise we cannot give feedback in case we have a comment on a change, I mean we don’t know who to address the feedback to (let it be in person, written or a phone call).

    It's not clear to me where inline track changes are identified by author. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    This is only if you have tracked changes turned on in the document. If you turn it on, you have a tracked changes pane on the right that identifies the person who made the change--and then, only until the change has been accepted. So... not what was being requested here.

    Thanks for bringing that to my attention, Nicole and Heather. It seems this post was incorrectly marked on my end and doesn't quite resolve the underlying request shared.  I'll move it back into our Feedback section and make sure I've got the right ticket connected related to authorship in blacklines.

    Our functional users would like to be able to export authorship,  so seems like that would be included if authorship was shown in blackline.

    Another vote here to be able to see Authorship on Blacklines - huge missed opportunity in my opinion.
