Digital Tie Out Features
CompletedWe try to maintain proper segregation of duties when it comes to preparing the 10-Q/10-K and then tying it out.
It would be great if the digital tie out feature would allow someone to use the mark-up mode, but not have access to change the information in the document.
That way they can do their tie out, but can't mess with the information that's in the document.

0Hi,
I agree with that, people that use the mark-up view to tie out the document should not have access to change the document.
Can I suggest an option under Advanced Permissions for mark-ups (only)?
Thanks.
3You most certainly may, Daniela! Thanks for adding your thoughts. We'll get this shared with our product team for added consideration. Cheers!
0Hello!
We have added a new enhancement to Markup and I wanted to share the good news.
Now available is the ability to toggle on a "view only" mode when using Markup, called "Markup only". This disables any abilities to edit the Workiva file while adding Markup to it. By default, this is on when Markup is turned on. You can also switch modes to "Editing with Markup" which allows editing while adding Markup. More info on these modes can be found here.
Let us know too if there are any questions. Thanks for your patience and feedback along the way. We couldn't have done it without you!
0Hi Mike,
Thanks for the update. I tried this new feature, but when I toggle 'Show Markup', the 'Markup only' mode is not turned on by default, consequently if who is working on markups forgets to switch modes to 'Markup only', they will be able to edit the report itself. This is a partial solution to my issues, since I should check the interns did not make changes by mistake in the report instead of the markups.
0Thanks for the heads up on this Daniela Aballay. I will bring this back to the team.
