XBRL footnotes in the rendering tool
AnsweredWhen I look at my SEC viewer, I see footnotes tagged to a line in my face financial. When I look at the line in XBRL there is no footnotes tagged at the bottom of the tagging details in the face financial. This line also appears in a footnote where I think this footnote is pulling from. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Valentina,
Thank you for reaching out. I'm working with one of our XBRL experts on getting an answer for you. Could you provide a screenshot of what you see when you're looking at the line in XBRL as well as what shows up in the SEC viewer. This will help us determine how to best move forward. Thanks!
0Hi Brandon please see below for a screen shot of what we see:
You can see here there is not a footnote tagged for these numbers, it must be pulling from another section. Below is the reinsurance recoverable policy benefits from above:

0Thanks for your patience, Valentina. It's possible that the footnotes are tagged in a different section of the document where that concept is also used, and it's "bleeding through" to the second location of the SEC Viewer. If you go to XBRL toolbar, then Attributes, then XBRL Footnotes, and Manage, do you see any xbrl footnotes listed there?
0Hi Brandon, no problem thank you for your help. The footnote shows in XBRL Footnotes - Manage - XBRL Footnotes. Correct, the concepts are used in our reinsurance footnote with the footnote applied there. Is it possible to stop the "bleed through?"
0Unfortunately no, this is a limitation of the SEC viewer which is controlled by the SEC so we aren't able to modify that.
