    Hi Melanie Mathilde Freiermuth-Lorenz,

Unfortunately, Workiva does not currently support moving or extending the range of an existing bookmark without deleting and recreating it.

There is no native way to change the position or extend the range of an existing bookmark in-place. The platform only supports:
    - Renaming a bookmark
    - Filtering bookmarks in the Document Bookmarks panel
    - Hyperlinking to a bookmark
    - Repositioning/extending a bookmark without deletion

To minimize reference loss, I recommend the following workaround:

    1. Note all hyperlinks and page references that point to the existing bookmark before making any changes.
    2. Create the new bookmark at the desired (expanded) position — give it a temporary, different name.
    3. Update all existing references (hyperlinks, Auto Text bookmark page numbers) throughout the report to point to the new bookmark.
    4. Delete the old bookmark only after all references have been migrated.
    5. Rename the new bookmark to match the original name if needed for consistency.

Important Note on Document Health Check
If a bookmark is deleted before references are updated, Workiva's Document Health Check will flag a "Verified Page Number Reference Issue", alerting you to broken references — so use it as a safety net during the final review.
