File permissions options at the time of upload/creation?

Is it possible to set file permissions at the time that a file or filing is created?  It seems like quarterly I or someone else in my team overlooks that a file or filing already exists because the default is that only the creator can view it.  It would be helpful to have an option to set permissions at the time of creation if that isn't already in the works.

    Hi Bryan,

    If you create a file from directly within a folder (by right-clicking the folder → Create), the new file inherits the folder's permissions. This is the recommended way to automatically apply permissions at creation time.

    Note: If you create a file outside a folder first and then move it into the folder, the file's permissions will not update to match the folder — the inheritance only happens at creation time.

    To bulk update, you can Right-click a folder → Permissions → Folders and Files to update permissions across multiple files at once.

    I've created a feature request in the meantime to add permission upon file creation.
