Remediation experience roles
CompletedAs we explored the possibility of using the Remediation experience we were surprised that those responsible for creating Remediation Action plans would need the role External Audit, Tester, Reviewer, or Manager to have access to the Remediation Experience. The Process / Control Owner does not have access to the Remediation experience and there is no +Remediation Add-On. Why can’t the Process / Control Owner have access to the Remediation experience? They need permissions to access their Remediation anyway. Or would it make sense to have a +Remediation add-on? Just checking to see if this is, or will be on the roadmap.

Ding! Ding! Ding! This just in, released this week was the +Remediation add-on role that you can add to specific Process and Control Owner users that you want to see the Remediation List View.
Good call out, Greg. I found some existing request for this internally though none on the community as of yet, so thanks for sharing. I believe you were interested int his enhancement Ken Pyzik.
The more votes and comments the better!
1Hi Mike,
I second the request of creating "+Remediation" Add-on. It would be helpful for Process/ Control Owners who are responsible for remediating Issues and executing Action Plans while still restricted from Testing.
(I have tried to search through Ken Pyzik's posts to vote but could not find the one on this topic, so I vote here on Greg's post instead).
Best,
1Hi Mike,
We have been going through this process recently and setting this up within wDesk. I am also in agreement with Greg - the functionality for issues and actions needs improvement and one key aspect is the user role. In order for us to facilitate the creation of an issue and action for process / control owners, we now have to set up a manual process to workaround this limitation. This is not at all a sustainable solution as we plan to have 1,000+ users onboarded in the system in the foreseeable future.
4Agreed with the above,
The manual workaround mean we need to create new bespoke reports containing every issue / action field and then write complex edit rules to allow users to provide necessary updates on the progress of their items.
Furthermore, the remediation experience is restrictive if you don't have data admin. Users are often duplicating items as an issue shows as having 0 action plans when in fact there are a number of action plans but the permissions have been set-up incorrectly.
1Thanks for sharing your insights Tracy Chee and James Greenbeck! I've passed this onto our product team for their further consideration.
0Add me to the list of requesters for a "+remediation" add-on.

0Great news! This enhancement is planned to made available sometime during Q3. We'll continue to take in new requests for it here and will keep you apprised if there are any new updates, and if any beta opportunities become available. Thanks and have a great day!
