ESEF Taxonomy Export in Workiva
Hi everyone,
We’ve noticed that it’s currently not possible to export the ESEF taxonomy from Workiva into Excel. This limitation makes it difficult to review and compare the taxonomy structure outside the platform, especially when coordinating with other stakeholders or performing quality checks. For comparison: in the Amana XBRL Tagger, exporting the taxonomy to Excel is straightforward and very helpful for analysis and documentation purposes.
In addition, we are currently preparing to analyze the changes between the ESEF 2022 and ESEF 2024 taxonomies. Since there have been updates, we’d like to understand these differences in advance — and having the ability to export the taxonomy would be a great help in this process.
It would be great if Workiva could consider adding this functionality. If anyone knows of a workaround or has suggestions, we’d really appreciate your input!
Many thanks.

-1Hello, in my opinion, it would be great if Workiva could offer a feature that shows the changes between the ESEF 2022 and ESEF 2024 taxonomies (or also for the coming years). That would be a real added value for users of the Workiva platform.
1Hi Franz, you are right, that would be help.
Isabel Messore: Are there any updates on this topic? We urgently need the mandatory disclosures for the notes to the financial statements. Thank you for your feedback.
0Unfortunately, no updates at this time. I've relayed your use case to our product team and will add you to Franz's enhancement request as well. Have a great day!
