Copy and Rollforward of attachments
CompletedWe have a set of documents we will be following forward every quarter. The documents include attachments we want included in the documents every time we roll them forward (we don't expect these attachments to change as they are agreements), is there an option to do this? We attempted to roll forward the document but none of the attachments were included in the copied version.

Fantastic news, everybody! Just released was the enhancement to optionally include Attachments when copying a file in Workiva.
Note that this first pass does not include the markup when copying. Copying with markup is planned and we'll definitely keep you posted. Thanks so much for your patience and do give us a holler if you got any questions. Happy copying!

Thanks for the question. I double check to confirm and sadly, this is not yet supported. We are working on allowing copy and/or export of documents to include attachments as well. It is definitely on the roadmap but I don't have a timeline though I should have an idea of its on the agenda for Q2 very soon. I'll keep this post updated on that info.
In the meantime, I will add that you can export all the attachments in your file and include their markup. Of course, you'd need to re-attach to the copied file after that is done, so it might not be worth the effort, but wanted to add that.
Definitely if any others are interested in copying/exporting attachments with documents feel free to chime in below or vote up this suggestion. It goes a long way toward helping us build prioritization of features.

I agree that this would be helpful and I brought it up months ago. Squeaky wheel (i.e. many more people need to request this) may get the grease :).

Yes this needs to be added as it was part of the classic version and should be part of nextgen.

Thanks for the note. While this feature is still on the roadmap to be completed, its not planned for Q2 2021. Appreciate your help on all of these different topics, I'd just continue to echo the sentiments mentioned above.. It would be tremendously helpful if the attachments within the document get rolled forward as well.

As long as this is an option, not the default! I'll still need the ability to rollforward without any attachments. : )

This enhancement does remain on the radar to be implemented. Your timing is excellent, though, as I've added this idea to our ongoing Idea Lab (which ends tomorrow). We should have an idea soon if this will be prioritized for released next quarter, or into early 2022.
