Share data between workspaces
AnsweredIs it possible to share data between workspaces? I would like to copy a table out of one workspace and paste it in another so it can be used in both workspaces.

Hi Nicole!
Thanks for the question. The answer here is sort of yes and no. Yes, you can send data between Workspaces. The easiest method is to use Data Sets in a Spreadsheets, so if your tabular data comes from a Spreadsheet, you can send that same data to another Workspace in your Organization. More info is availab eon Help at Connecting a Sheet to a Data Source.
Additionally, you can also have this data updated via Wdata Tables, though this is a bit more tech savvy. Here's some info on Connecting Sheets to Wdata Tables.
Lastly, you an of course have your two Workspaces open in separate tabs and then copy and paste the data from one to the other, though there's no linking created there or connection, its just the raw data.
Hopefully those are of some help. Let me know what questions you have on the above, or if you need anything else. Thanks for your contributions and have a great rest of your day!
0hey, as a follow up, can i copy the charts from one wrokspace document to the other ? because its throwing an error at the moment
0Hi Shreya!
Yes, you should be able to copy/paste a Chart from one file to another in the same Workspace. What does the error message say when you paste?
0hey Mike, its not in the same workspace, its in different workspace, I have ownership rights in both the workspaces but yet it says that permission issues
0I tested this and I believe I'm seeing the same thing when trying to paste a Chart across a Workspace.
As a workaround, you CAN copy and paste the Chart data, however, though you'd have to adjust the formatting of the chart to match what you have in your first Workspace.
That said, I do find a ticket for this enhancement and will add you as a requestor there. We'll keep you updated on progress. Let me know too if you have any follow-ups for me.
0thanks Mike, I know we can copy the chart data but if its the same formatting, it just seemed unnecessary to re do it again and was checking if we could copy paste it as is.
