Merging References to Reference Single Attachment
We have duplicate attachments within multiple sections of our document that I would like to 'merge' so that all our tieout references will reference a single instance of the attachment and remove the remainder. It seemed like in the Classic version, when you selected replace file, you had the option of choosing a file that had already been uploaded. Unless I'm overlooking, now it seems the only option is to choose a file from your computer. We could obviously delete and start over from the beginning, but that would be time consuming. We would just prefer to have a single instance in the event a file needs to be replaced, it can just be replaced once vs. having to click through each document section because the file has been uploaded multiple times. Is this functionality currently available?

Hi Lauren!
I think what you are looking for exists today, as the Add Reference option. How it works is it reuses something you've already attached elsewhere in the file instead of having to upload the same thing again. To do this, you need to open your attachment panel and from the top right, click the Filter option and make sure you are showing All documents attached. Then, highlight the item you wish to reference and then from the list of attached files, click on the drop-down and choose +Add Reference.
Is this what you are looking to do, or have I missed the mark there? Let me know what questions you have for me, or if you need anything else.
Thanks for your contributions and have a great rest of your day!
0I understand that feature when adding a reference for the first time within the document. But assume someone didn't realize you could filter for attachments across all sections and uploaded the attachment more than once. Now, you have a situation where the references are in the document, but you want to remove the attachment so that it will only appear once if you filtered across all section vs. multiple times. Deleting the additional attachment references isn't an option because it will remove the references that overlay the document and replacing the file or reverting to a placeholder, only lets you choose a new file to upload from your computer.
