How do I import XLS to WDesk to use for processing from Wdata using Chains?
AnsweredI have an XLS file with an unknown number of sheets. Each sheet has data in a certain structured format. I want to get that file into a WDesk Spreadsheet, each sheet mapping to a sheet in WDesk. When I want to enumerate the sheets from a chain and perform some work. I am pretty certain I am fine with the latter half of this process - what I need some guidance on is the first part.
My first attempt was to create a folder in WDesk and upload the XLS by hand. Then I wanted my chain to scan this folder for files, pick up any files present and create a WDesk Spreadsheet from it. Gowever I only see two ways to get files - from File Utils (which work on files in a different space than WDesk I presume) and Worfiva connector's List Files, which list files in WData linked to a table - also not what I want.
What command do I use to fetch files uploaded to a folder in WDesk and then import that XLS file as a WDesk spreadsheet?

Hello Waldo, There are a couple of ways to import an XLSX file into Wdesk. The first is to use the Import wizard within the Spreadsheet. Instruction can be found here https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035643172-Create-or-Import-a-Spreadsheet#section4. The second way is to use Wdesk Sync which is an Excel add-on. If importing the file via Chains, the file will need to be converted to a CSV file which is accepted by the Overwrite Sheet Data command.
