How can we include the iXBRL and XHTML of our Annual Report on our website?
Transparency requirements say that companies have to publish the legal Annual Reports themselves, and make them available for at least five years.
There is not an explicit requirement that this should be on a company website, but in practice, this is where most companies will post their Annual Reports.
Local law may also include additional requirements and should be consulted.
To post the Annual Report in the XHTML version with iXBRL, it is recommend that teams talk to their internal IT/web teams about embedding the filing with the Inline iXBRL Viewer, as well as making the .zip file available for download directly from the company website.
To download and access the iXBRL Viewer, follow these steps:
- Generate XBRL in your Wdesk account
- Download the iXBRL Viewer from the new Generation - this will save to a .zip on your desktop
- From your desktop, unzip the new folder and extract all files
- In the new extracted folder, you will find a .htm file with the iXBRL Viewer
*The entire .zip folder should be sent to the IT/web team for upload.*
Make sure to use the latest XBRL generation that is included in your final submission.
