    Hello, thanks for reaching out with your question!

    Footers are consistent throughout the document, so if you type two dashes, put your cursor between them, and then Insert Page Number, it will place the automated page number between the dashes in every footer. The exception to this would be if you're using any of the options to customize the footer such as "Different first page" or "Different last page". This is a little different than using a prefix or suffix around your page number, but should give you the same result! I hope this works for you, let me know if I can help with anything else.
