Feedback tips: engaging in the feedback process at Workiva
PinnedAs you know, many of the improvements and new additions to Workiva’s platform are a direct result of user feedback. Our product team works hard to implement the suggestions our users provide, and while we can’t implement every one of them, we try hard to gather, synthesize, and ultimately prioritize your ideas as they make their way to our roadmap, and then one day, into the products you know and love.
Here’s how you too can engage in the process.
Making Your Voice Heard
The Workiva platform is built on your great ideas, so we encourage you to share your feature suggestions. There’s a few ways to engage with us directly.
The best method is by engaging it in the Workiva Community. This puts you in the driver’s seat, and also connects you with all your peers, and the Workiva team, who also find value in your idea. You can share a new idea or tack onto an existing one you find by adding your own use case as a comment, or even just a “plus one”. And don’t forget to give your favorite ideas a vote too. Each little bit helps.
On the Community, you’ll see statuses on idea posts. Here’s what they mean.
- NO STATUS - this suggestions has been acknowledged and reviewed by our Product Team but remains proposed only and no action has yet been taken
- PLANNED - Workiva has added this request to our product roadmap for future work
- NOT PLANNED - this suggestion is not likely to be implemented due to conflicting priorities or lack of fit with overall product vision/direction
- COMPLETED - this suggestion has been released to the Workiva platform
You can also submit your suggestion through our portal by choosing Product Ideas & Suggestions. These requests also find their way to us too and we'll be happy to connect your feedback to the right team and keep you apprised of its progress.
Viewing & Managing Your Feedback
At any time, your existing requests and their statuses are viewable under Ticket Management. This contains any feedback you have provided, regardless of whether it was here in the community, in the portal, or as a result of a Customer Support interaction.
Your requests should all have information about them visible, including the ID number, the status of the ID, the product it pertained to, and the development status of the idea. Below is a readout of the different development statuses you might see.
- OPEN - we are working on connecting your request to the appropriate Product Team
- UNDER REVIEW - your suggestion has been proposed with our Product Team
- ON THE ROADMAP - Workiva is waiting for additional input from the customer
- RELEASED - your suggestions has been added to the Workiva platform
NOTE: other Customer Support interactions will also appear here, and any issues we are actively tracking for you too.
How We Process Your Feedback
When you share feedback, it truly finds its way to our Product Management team. We connect your requests behind the scenes and via some integrations we are kept up-to-date on these requests so that any new changes are sent straight to your inbox as your idea moves along.
Each quarter, we analyze your feedback and share that information with the Product Team as they begin planning efforts. Mid-cycle, we also pay attention to upticks in requests and keep our Product Managers aware of new developments, as well as any releases of requested items along the way.
Workiva release information is also published in a few other places, including Workiva Updates and What’s New In Sustainability. More info is found here at staying up-to-date on Workiva.
Status Updates & Questions
If you have any questions about the status of your suggestion you can reach out here in the Community, reply to your suggestion in My requests, or respond back to your email and we’ll be happy to provide any updates we have, even if it's no update at all.
Thanks as always for your patience and feedback along the way. We truly appreciate it and know we cannot make the Workiva platform great without your insights.
