I want to change the precision of a number in wdesk to be in 10s of millions versus an exact, is that possible?
AnsweredFor instance, I have a number that is 76M and I want it to round to the closest 10M or 80M. Is there a formatting feature that assists with that or do I have to manually edit? This is in next gen.

Hi Elizabeth!
Thanks for the question. It sounds like you are looking to do what was called Global Precision Based Overrides in Classic. We actually got a question about this in our AMA for today, which we'll be answering here shortly, but to answer this question, at this time you'd need to round this value in your source location with a formula and then link that value to your file.
Here's a quick example:
I'd say stay tuned to the AMA today, which we'll begin answering at 11:00 am CT, so in just a little bit. If you have any questions yourself, feel free to ask 'em there and we'll get 'em answered too! In the meantime, holler if you need any clarification on the above or have any other questions. Thanks much and chat soon!
0I really miss the Global Precision Based Overrides that was available in Classic. I really hope it is brought back. We've been told that it won't, though. I considered it a great selling point in going to Wdesk.
2Hi Glenna!
The good news is that our Product Team is looking into resurrecting this feature and adding back into next gen. In the meantime, we've also provided this article about the workaround process in the meantime: https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038967752.
0Quick update here: at this time it is not planned to work on GPBOs in next gen. We'll continue to take in requests here and will revisit this should it get reprioritized. Please share your interest and use case below and we'll be sure to share with our Product Team. In the meantime, the article shared above is the best workaround. Thanks much and have a great day!
