    Hi Mary Ellen!

For sure, but in next gen its slightly different. To insert the page number of a section into a table cell, you need to first select the value in the table cell you are going to apply the section number, and then go to the Edit > Insert menu and choose Auto Text > Section Page Number, like so:

Then choose which section you want and choose Insert.

Now you should have a hyperlinked value for your page number of that section.

Is this what you are looking to do? Let me know if I've missed the mark, or there any additional questions for me. Thanks for your contributions and have a great rest of your day!

Mike Got it, thank you.  It was a lot less time consuming in the Classic version.  I kindly request a shortcut like the Classic version be added to the Next Gen.

No problem, Mary! For sure. I always find myself right-clicking and looking for it, but alas. Your feedback is noted and I'll definitely pass that along to our Product Team. Cheers! 🥂

These instructions need to be more specific and state that you can't simply click on the cell that you need to insert auto text, but that you actually have to click within the cell so that you have a cursor. I don't populate my TOC with page numbers when Workiva will do that for me, so I'm starting from an empty cell. Simply clicking on the cell gives you a completely different Insert menu than when you double click within the cell and are ready to enter text or numbers.  I agree with the above comment that this used to be MUCH easier than it currently is.

Thank you, Mike, for the instruction, and thank you, Emilie Fielding, for the added clarification. I noticed the insert menu was changing once I clicked a cell in the table. As Emilie noted, I double-clicked the cell and the correct insert menu appeared.
