Workspace Roles for Vendors
AnsweredHello All - Currently our Workiva implementation team (Workiva staff) has Workspace Owner and Workspace Support User role for the workspace. We would like to eventually move to a security model where they do not have access to anything in the workspace unless we add them. They do have Org Admin role. Could we remove all their roles in the workspace, and then add them when needed? Unsure if that would accomplish our goal. This is to comply with corporate policy that says all vendor accounts must be disabled until needed.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Welcome to the Community, Jeff!
That's a great question, and I'm happy to take a stab at it, at least from a Wdesk functionality point of view.To achieve what you are looking for, you could simply remove the members of the implementation team from the Workspace but keep them in the Org just as an Org Member, with no special Org roles. This way they could be added back to any existing or future Workspace if needed, but they wouldn't be able to access any content at all since they are not members of any Workspace.
Another option too would be to simply remove them from the Org too. You can always invite them back as a Workspace Support User in the future. This would just be an extra step, as opposed to keeping them in your Org but having no Workspace.Does that make sense? Give me a holler if you have any questions on the above, or need any further help. Thanks for your contributions and have a great rest of your day!
0Thanks for the kind welcome, Mike! Your suggestions are great, and I think leaving them as Org Admins but remove from Workspace would do the trick, so I am going to recommend that to or management. Much appreciated.
Looking forward to learning more as we being our adventure in Workiva. It's great to know there is a community here that is so helpful. Thanks again!

Jeff
