How can I roll forward one workbook only from my Q3 ERM Project to my (Q4 ERM Project)?

    Hi Laurie,

    Thanks for the question. I'm happy to help as best I can.

    Quick question for you, is the file you are wishing to copy an actual classic Workbook, or a next gen Spreadsheet? Depending on which it is will make help determine your options here.

    I ask because if you are dealing with a classic Workbook that has links going to and from many places, there's not a simple way to roll forward only that workbook as the process of copying it will automatically bring any of its linked documents along with it too, which will leave you with extra links and extra docs you likely don't want.

    However, if you are working with a next gen Spreadsheet, you do have the option when copying it to either Keep Links to Linked Files, which keeps the same source files for your destination links, or Remove Links to Linked Files, which removes any links. These options are available from Copy option in when right-clicking in Home.


    If you in fact dealing with a Workbook, it is possible that you could transition it to a Spreadsheet first, and have that newly transitioned file be your rolled forward copy. Similarly, the option to transition is also available via a right-click in Home, although you may want to discuss with your CSM and/or take a gander at this site prior to transitioning the file, should you choose to do that.
