Is there a way to set the pdf margins in a spreadsheet
AnsweredIs there a way to set the margins when converting a spreadsheet to a pdf? I have a spreadsheet that will fit on a letter sized page if I was able to change the margins. It is cutting off the border on the sheet. I has an inch margin all around and it would be nice to scale it down to 1/4 or 1/2 all the way around

Hi Scott,
Sorry for the delay in getting to this. It seems to have got lost in shuffle. Either way, I think I might have a possible solution for you.
Recently released to Spreadsheets was the 'Fit to Width' option when exporting to PDF. I'm not 100% sure, but this may help alleviate what you are you seeing. You can see this optin when you choose File > Export > PDF Document (pdf), like so:
Let me know if this helps or you have any questions for me. Thanks for your patience, and chat with you soon!
0Mike,
Thanks for the response. I did use the fit to width, however that is not the issue, the issue is the height. if you look at the above attachment, it cuts off the bottom, there are notes under the last line that got cut off. I had to shrink the row heights and hid the buffer rows to get it to almost fit the height. If there was the ability to change the margins, I would have been able to fit the entire sheet on the page. Plus when this was printed out, it was too small to read due to the margins, so I had to export it to Excel to set the print area.
0Gotcha Scott Paasch. That makes sense.
I've passed this particular case along to our Product and Support Teams to take a closer look, and have extracted this post into a ticket for further tracking. Give me a holler if you have any questions for me in the meantime. Thanks again for your feedback and have a great day!
1Mike - has there been an update on this issue?
0Hi Amelia!
Thanks for the note. I circled back on this just now and the suggestion for setting the PDF margin size when export from Spreadsheet is on the roadmap to be done, though no timeline is set as of yet. I've added you as a requestor there so you can keep apprised of any movements, though we'll also keep this post updated too.
Hopefully that helps some. Do let know what questions you have and if you need anything else. Cheers!
0Mike - Checking in to see if there is any updates on timing for this. Have a number of use cases that would benefit from this particular feature.
1Hi Brittany!
Welcome to the community. I just took a look to confirm, and at this time no timeline has yet been set, though it does remain on the future roadmap. I'll definitely keep you apprised though, and will share your interest back with our developers. Thanks for chiming in and have an awesome day!
0any update? Also, is there a fit to width option when converting to a word document?
0Hi Liz!
Thanks for chiming in. As far as this feature goes, it does remain on the roadmap still but its yet to get moved over to be worked on as of yet. And for Fit to Width on Word import, I'm not seeing any development on that front. Happy to add that request to the list for consideration as well.
Holler with any questions and have a great weekend!
