Hi all!
Some good news for you on this Friday afternoon. A recent release to Workiva has now made both the blackline viewer and blackline history available in next gen Documents. Wanted to spread the word so you can start using it ASAP.
As always, give me a holler if there are any questions, or you need anything else. Thanks for your continued patience and feedback, and have a most excellent weekend. Cheers!
Blackline history was on the list of available features to be rolled out in late 2019, but I don't see it on the list at all anymore. I'd be curious to know as well if this is going to be an available feature, because I use it frequently now with classic documents.
0Hey Corrina and Jamie - I'm Joel Barbour, the Product Manager for next generation Documents.
We will definitely be adding blackline history to next generation documents! We hope to roll this out before the end of 2019. We will also be adding the option to open blacklines in a viewer experience rather than downloading them as PDF.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
0Joel Barbour I wanted to follow up on to see when the Blackline history will be available. We use them a lot for the auditors and, now that we've transitioned, I'm seeing that there is no history and you can't tell on the Blackline itself what two versions you were running it for. Hoping the history is rolled out before we need it in late Jan/early Feb.
0Hi Robert Fecher,
I'm happy to provide an update for you regarding blackline functionality in next gen Wdesk. As Joel mentioned, we hoped to get this out by the end of 2019 but as you can see we are just a few days away and sadly we won't have this released by then. It does remain on our roadmap for sure and has been re-adjusted to be made available in Q1 2020.
I've passed along your feedback with our Product Team and have connected your request with the appropriate internal tickets. We'll be in touch soon with any new updates but give us a holler if you do have questions in the meantime. Thanks for your feedback and have a Happy New Year if I don't catch you before then. Cheers!0This is still not available even though we are now effectively in Q2, is that correct?
0Hi Nicki,
Thanks for the follow-up here. You are correct, this feature has been re-prioritized for a Q2 release. Specifically we plan to make it available in May. Our apologies for the continued delay on this one but we do have good confidence in this being available in Q2. If this does change I'll do a better job of updating this one prior to the end of Q2 if that happens. In the meantime, I've connected your request with the team directly but you can also keep your eyes peeled to What's New for updates as well. Thanks again and happy Friday!
