Table Sizing in Next Gen Presentations
CompletedIf there was an easier way to size tables for presentations, for example adding a "table settings" tab on the right that allows you to select the number of rows and columns you would like in your table, as well as adding the capability to adjust the width of your highlighted rows or columns-- it would be great! (Whether they be consecutive columns highlighted by holding down shift, or selecting individual columns by holding down ctrl + clicking on desired columns)
For example, when sizing separator columns between column headings by quarter (i.e. Jan 1Q19 QTD) making them all a width of lets say 8, they often all freak out and collapse into the tiniest little columns that look like lines.
Also, now that there is the added capability of dragging the table to the size you would like, it messes up the previous method of highlighting the columns you want to adjust width to, then adjusting one, and all changing to that specified size.
If you size the table by dragging a corner then try to adjust the width of more than one column they auto-adjust to a different width-- not the one you specified. This often affects the far left column, or column "A," that often contains line items meaning that it needs to be much larger than the proceeding columns containing numerical values.

Hi Serena,
I'm doing some community clean-up and saw that my original comment to you was missing from this post when we migrated our site.
Thanks for your feedback. All excellent ideas, for sure! I did pass this along to our Product Team and will have further connected your request here to stay updated. Give me a holler if you have any questions for me in the meantime. Thanks, and stay awesome!0Hi Serena!
Wanted to give a quick update here regarding a recent improvement to next gen table cell and row properties. You are now able to adjust the individual cell row height and/or column width from the right-hand panel. Here's a quick example:
Hopefully this helps a bit with what you were experiencing. Let me know what questions you have and if you need anything else. Thanks for your patience and have a super day!
0I can't get this work. I'll set a column width and WDesk either won't accept it or resets it some mysterious maximum that doesn't make apparent sense. Dragging has no effect. I want to be able to set a table width in inches, then assign column widths dynamically. Can I do this?
0I may have figured out a workaround, at least for a two-column table. I clicked Table Properties>Resize Rows to Fit Cell Contents, then entered text into the column A cell that I most wanted this to apply to. Then I unclicked the box. From there, dragging column B worked.
