External audit - view access to testing
AnsweredWe have just recently started using wDesk and want to give our external auditors access to some of our testing. We've added the relevant people as users that have external audit roles; we've put them in a group called External Audit, and we've given them permission to the test files we would like them to see. When they click on the audit program, it opens the overview page but does not show the interim or update tabs. If we click on Interim in the Conclusion section of the Overview page for a control, it loads a sheet that just has a drop down box from which the control #s show; however, it does not load the testing results spreadsheet nor does it show the evidence which was tested. What do we need to do to allow them to see the work we have done?

It is my understanding that the role requires the test to be marked as "Complete" for external audit to be able to see the results, so if the status is anything else, there will be a restriction on their ability to see the information.
Hope this helps!0We have marked the relevant controls with the status "Complete - Ready for EA Review," where EA means External Audit. So I don't think status is the issue. 0Great insights, Ruth, and excellent question, Denise!
I believe I have a solution for you, although you'll need to contact your CSM to have this addressed for you. There is a hidden field called "EA Reliance" that will allow your external auditors to see phases after a certain status (or statuses).
On your end, you would need to determine what status you would like test forms to be in for external audit to view them. Once that is determined, on our end, we can then mark that status (or statuses) as External Audit Workflow (see image below) and your external auditors can view phases that have that status. Without that status, all they will see is the Overview tab
Is this what you are looking for? If so, you can give your CSM a holler and they should be able to assist you. If I've missed the mark, however, let me know and I'll be happy to help however I can.
Thanks again and give me a holler if you need anything else. Cheers!0Good to hear its working for you and your team! And no problem, that's what we're here for :) 0That was the answer that was required. We were able to contact the helpdesk, who worked with our CSM to get the correct boxes checked. Once we had that, our external auditors were able to have the access that was required. I appreciate the answers and help from the community.! 0Hi team
Can external audit can only see and open the test form related to reliant controls (EA reliant is Yes) but not all test form?0In short, the answer is no. The External Audit role does not grant access to test forms based on controls being EA reliant or not. Users will still need to be assigned permissions to the test forms they should be able to access separately from their role. EA does limit access to test phases based on status (this can be customized but is usually set so that EA users with permissions to a test form only see its contained phases if the status of those phases is marked as "Complete").
