Updating hyperlinks to included exhibits when rolling forward to new project
Answered-
Hi Kary,
Thanks for the question. I believe I can clarify a few items for you.
In Wdesk, whether you export and import a project or use the copy project feature for roll forward purposes, by default your EDGAR files are NOT included in the new, rolled version, unless you choose to include them. For example, when you go to export a project, you should see this pop-up window and the following button to 'Include generated filing documents'.
However, as the note reads, we do not recommend including these files unless you are using this as an archive, not for roll forward purposes. This is because when the new project imports (or is copied) it will want to overwrite the existing file names that exist on your account, which can cause problems with your new filing project referencing old, previously generated exhibits. For this reason, we suggest excluding the generated files in your roll forward.
That being said, you will have to reapply new hyperlinks going to your included exhibits (those "filed herewith") in the new rolled forward documents after you generate EDGAR. But by doing so, this ensures you are referencing the correct, updated exhibits in your new filing, so it's likely worth the extra step.
Does this make sense? Let me know if you have any questions or need anything else. Thanks again and have a super day in the meantime. Cheers!0Please sign in to leave a comment.
