    Hi Sana,

Thanks for the question. Currently, you cannot freeze a Spreadsheet in the same manner you can for Workbooks. However, our Product Team is pursuing this feature for Spreadsheets and I've let them know of your interest and will keep you updated here with any new updates.

In the meantime, I thought I'd also mention that you can lock cells in Spreadsheets. If you're unfamiliar, you select a cell or cells and choose "Lock", which is found under the Edit tab, to the far right, like so:

If you have any questions for me on the above let me know. Thanks again for your input and have a great rest of your day. Cheers!

That would be extremely helpful as it is very easy to update the wrong period spreadsheet with Wdesk sync; if just looking at recent and not paying attention to the name

Is there a way to restore a previous version of a spreadsheet? I had team members inadvertently make changes to a prior period's spreadsheet. Until I'm able to freeze the spreadsheet along with the rest of the project, is there something I can do to restore this to what it was at the filing date?

    Hi Matt,

Unfortunately, reverting to a previous revision is not currently an available option in Spreadsheets. However, you could open the Revision in the History Panel you would like to revert back to, copy the contents from the Revision and paste into the Current version of the Spreadsheet.

    Hope this helps!

Even though you cannot "freeze" spreadsheets, I have found that by changing the permissions to view only for everyone , it accomplishes the "frozen" state.

Can you still not freeze spreadsheets?  If not, should I be changing the permissions to 'view only' for everyone?

    Hi James!

The ability to freeze a Spreadsheet is not yet available but does remain on the future roadmap. In that case, the proposed workaround of changing folks to 'view only' would be the best one. I've connected your request with our Product Team and will keep this post updated with any new developments regarding freeze in Spreadsheets. Thanks for your contributions and have an excellent day!

Do you have any update on this feature as this would be great addition and make the use of spreadsheet more convenient?

    Hi Adam!

Looks like I missed updating this one a bit, so thanks for the nudge. To answer, yes, this is available as of May 2021 under the feature Lock Edits, which is supported in Spreadsheets. Let me know what questions you have regarding that or if you need anything else. Cheers! 🍻
