Workaround to achieve vertical text in EDGAR documents
AnsweredFor vertical text in EDGAR documents, one method is to prepare the text in an image editor, rotate accordingly, and then drop the image into the cell.

The only document types in Wdesk you could format vertical text in table cells are Presentation, Spreadsheet and Document. Its restricted from fileable document types since EDGAR does not support vertical text.
For the above workaround, you could create your vertical text in a Presentation document, rotate it and take a screen capture of it to produce the vertical text image. Let me know if you have further questions for me. Thanks!0Is this still true? Our proxy filed in March had vertical text in Edgar. I dont see an image filed for that text so wondering if you know if something changed or if there is a way to do this in Workiva now?
0Hi Kristi!
Actually, you are correct, this is no longer true, or partially true. EDGAR does now support vertical text, but sadly, Workiva does NOT support EDGARizing vertical text. We acknowledge this discrepancy and will look into supporting it. I'll definitely add you as a requestor there and keep you apprised.
Thanks for keeping me honest and do give us a holler if you have any questions.
0Hi, I know I'm commenting on an older post, but is it still correct that Workiva does not support EDGARizing vertical text in filing documents? I saw that I can do vertical text in Spreadsheets, and I pasted it into the Proxy filing, but the vertical text did not render in the html preview. Thanks!
0Hi Kristin Hughes,
You are correct. Unfortunately, Workiva does not support EDGARizing vertical text at the moment. However, we have had multiple requests for this feature. I'd be happy to add you as a follower on that request so you'll be notified of any updates!
