Hi all!
Wanted to let you know that the ability to attach supporting document to a Spreadsheet was recently made available for all accounts in Wdesk. You can access this attachment feature from the right-hand panel in your Spreadsheet, like so:
Give me a holler if you have any questions or need any further assistance. Thanks so much for your valued feedback. Happy attaching in the meantime :)Hi Sherry!
Currently in next generation, attachments are not yet supported, which includes Spreadsheets. However, we are ready to have our beta version of Spreadsheet attachments kicking off in Q1, so if you're interested in being part of this first phase, let me know and I'll be happy to connect you with our Product Team who is working on attachments. I should say that this first phase will very basic attachments, i.e. attach, delete, placeholders, zip/download, etc., but no binders or annotations to start. Again, just let me know if you'd be interested in taking part. I completely understand if not. I won't take any offense ;)
In the meantime, give me a holler if you need anything else. Thanks as always for your interest and have a great day!0Hi Mike,
Is this function still in the beta phase or live for everyone?0Welcome to the Community, Andrena!
Yes, this feature is still in beta currently. If you'd be interested in chatting with the team and getting access, let me know and I'll certainly get the ball rolling for you. Otherwise you can keep your eyes peeled on our Release Notes for when this feature is fully live for all users.
Holler if you have any questions for me in the meantime or need anything else. Happy Friday!0Mike, We would definitely be interested in joining the pilot group. Please let me know how to proceed.
Would we be able to attach PDFs to spreadsheets using the Support Binders feature?0Hello again, Andrena!
I'll pass your info along to our Product Team and we'll be in touch.
Currently this feature is only available on Spreadsheets themselves, so yes, you would be able to attach PDFs there. Next generation Documents and Presentations would be coming later on down the line.
Hope that helps answer your questions. Do let me know if you need anything else. We'll be in touch soon. Happy attaching in the meantime. :)0Mike,
Any chance that attaching documents in spreadsheet can result in locking the data, similar to the way it works in classic documents? And could you open the attachment in a viewer rather than downloading it?We currently attach all of our support within the classic document so until we have similar functionality in either next gen documents or spreadsheets I'm not sure we are ready to switch.
Thanks
John0Hi John,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Wanted to let you know that I've connected your request with the appropriate Product Team and making attachments available in next gen Documents is something that the team is actively working on. We anticipate having this functionality available soon, hopefully within the end of the year. I'll keep you updated here with any new developments but you can also follow our What's New topic and keep your eyes peeled for that particular feature release too.
Regarding your second item of viewing an attachment, that is something that the team plans to tackle once they have attachments universally available in next gen. I don't have a timeline for you regarding that, but rest assured that same feedback has been passed along and I'll be sure to keep you updated there as well.
In the meantime, give me a holler if you have any questions or need anything else. Thanks again for your valued feedback and have a great rest of your day!
