    Hi all!

Please to report that spellcheck is available for Spreadsheets! Bad spellers of the world, untie! 😜

    Hi Katy,

Thanks for the questions. Regarding smart quotes and spell check--both are not available on Workbooks and/or Spreadsheets. Both items are being looked at by our Product Team and I've shared your interest in both with them. I'll keep you updated here with any new information as well. Let me know if you have any questions for me in the meantime. Thanks again and have a great day!

Has there been any update on spell check in spreadsheets?

    Hi Chantelle Mugford!

The only update I have here is that spell check is being worked on for net gen Spreadsheets (and all next gen products) and is scheduled to be available in Q2 2020. I'll certainly keep this post updated with any new developments there, but feel free too to follow the What's New topic and visit the Feature Tracker on this page to stay up-to-date.

I've passed your interest in this feature along to the Product Team as well, but do give me a holler if you have any questions. Thanks much and have a great day!

I should also add that smart quotes is also something the team is considering. Currently, you could insert the smart quote as a symbol in next gen Spreadsheets. This option would be found under Insert menu when clicking inside a cell. From there, choose Symbol and then Symbol Library to find the corresponding quote symbols you want to use.

Thanks again for your patience and let me know if you need anything else. Cheers!

    Hi Mike

I am trying to find spell check in next gen docs and spreadsheet. It seems it doesn't exist, and when I look at the feature tracker, I do not see any feature named "spell check".

Can you update on this? This seems like basic functionality for drafting a corporate document.

Apologies for missing your question Megan Daniell. To answer both you and Nedaa Karawan, there is currently not a spell check function in next gen Spreadsheets. This featured does remain on our Product Team's roadmap, but there's no timeline as of yet for its release. I've added both of you and your feedback to the ongoing request internally. I'll keep you updated here with new developments, but you can also follow along here: https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/requests

Thanks for your feedback and give me a holler if you have any questions for me in the meantime.

Quick update here. Smart quote options are not currently planned for Spreadsheets. You can insert the character of a smart quote into a cell, however, and/or link them.
