SEC's ruling on climate-related disclosures
Announced March 6th, the SEC adopted new rules regarding climate-related disclosures. In short, this ruling will require the disclosure of risks, governance, financials, and emissions for some SEC registrants.
The ruling will be phased in, starting with Large accelerated filers beginning in fiscal year 2025 for the filing of their 2026 reports with an additional year being given to Accelerated and Non-accelerated filers. The SEC’s Fact Sheet contains the bulk of the items but additional info can be found here on our provided FAQs. Our own CEO, Julie Iskow, also shared this letter about this exciting update.
Workiva will continue to monitor this ruling to ensure our filers have the most up-to-date information and tools at hand to meet these regulations. You can always reach out here on the community with questions, or contact your CSM.
