How Do You Use Outline Labels
One area of feedback that came out of our Q1 debrief was the interest in getting status of the draft out to the team more frequently and timely on draft nights. One thought I had regarding this is if there was a way to use outline labels to indicate which sections of the draft are still pending. We currently use outline labels to indicate review status and I wouldn’t want to change those at all, but if there was a way to have outline labels that were only used on draft day so people could see real time which sections are still open. Any suggestions?

We use outline labels to mark the status of the section (Not started, Rolled forward, In progress, Drafted, Reviewed, Final). When we send out drafts to reviewers, I typically use the send for review function which don't include outline labels. If there are sections that are not completed and therefore they should not be reviewing at all (for example, an entire footnote), I will make a note at the top of the section "NOT UPDATED" or something in red font or highlighted in yellow. If there are partial sections, like a whole paragraph or a sentence or two that hasn't been updated, those are highlighted in yellow. Any numbers or verbiage not yet final or updated are noted in [brackets] and may be bold so it stands out or numbers are marked with [•].
