    Thanks for your question! We have seen situations like this come up before, and there isn't one right way to go about it. Both of the approaches you listed are valid options. Ultimately, if you plan on doing a lot of linking between documents, you just need to be conscious of those links when copying. If you wanted to, you could lock the document at the "roll forward" point and then pick back up on the work. This approach would throw a little bit of a wrench in the doc history, though. Hope this helps!
