Projects brings your multi-entity reporting work all into one place. If you’re a reporting manager responsible for multiple entities and their reporting obligations, using Projects will give you a single location to oversee status, spot risks, and navigate to the files that need attention—without relying on external spreadsheets or emailing your team for updates.
Requirements
- Your workspace must have the Multi-Entity Reporting (MER) Advanced, Fund Reporting Suite, or Insurance Suite solution enabled.
- The entities and their reporting obligations must already exist in Business Data at the organization level.
- Specific actions in Projects require different permissions. See Understanding project and report permissions for details.
Create a project
Create a project by first scoping it to a reporting obligation, either from a suggested group of entities or by customizing the scope yourself. From there, you’ll assign a primary file to each entity’s report, add supporting files, set key dates, and assign a report manager and other users.
You must be a Workspace Owner, Content Manager, or have the appropriate MER feature-specific role that aggregates Workspace Owner or Content Manager abilities (recommended) to create a project.
Note: When scoping a project, only the entities that have been activated, added to your workspace, added to a reporting obligation, and have an operating status as Operating in Business Data at the organization level will be available to add to the project scope.
Track progress with dashboards
Once a project is created, you get a project dashboard and a report dashboard for each report within the project, so that you can check project and report statuses all in a single experience. These dashboards contain live views of tasks, comments, and user workload, making it easier for you to juggle multiple entities and deadlines without needing to keep track of emails and other external tools.
Manage settings and permissions
Settings and permissions exist at both the project level and the report level. To manage who can do what in the project, in that project’s reports, and in each of the report’s files, you’ll need to set both project-level and report-level permissions.
